EXEC SUMMARY:
CHALLENGE:
To perform deepfake detection and identity authentication in real time, Validia needed a verification bot that could integrate seamlessly into their platform and scale with their needs.
SOLUTION:
When initial attempts to build a verification bot proved more complex than expected, Validia partnered with Recall.ai to quickly process audio and video samples at scale.
RESULTS:
Validia saved an estimated 500 hours of developer work and now has the rapid verification processing and support they need to secure enterprise identity in an age of exponential AI advancement.

Trust. It’s the foundation of every partnership agreement, every customer engagement, and every effective business relationship. But in our hyper-connected digital society, simply trusting that people are who they say they are is no simple task. Worse yet, our eyes and ears are no longer enough to detect deepfakes and stolen identities. With more than half of large enterprises experiencing deepfake attacks in the past year and 80% of employees willing to act on AI-impersonated instructions, Validia is fighting back with a platform built for real-time identity verification at scale.
“What we're looking to do is secure enterprise identity in an age of exponential AI advancement,” said Justin Marciano, CEO and Co-founder of Validia. “Validia is looking to revolutionize the enterprise identity authentication space to solve the critical vulnerability of identity impersonation.”
Challenge: Integrate a verification bot into real-time communications at scale
Validia’s platform depends on pulling audio and video analysis from meetings on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet for their database, then automatically analyzing this audio and video data against biometric embeddings to verify users’ identities. Key to this experience was delivering reliable identity verification and deepfake detection to customers in real time.
“We were looking for a really fast integration to these video conferencing platforms. We needed it to be really quick,” Marciano said. “Part of our product is authentication, so you don't want it to lag. You want it to be almost instantaneous so there is no confusion on the user end.”
However, pulling audio and video data to perform this real-time authentication was not easy. Initially, Validia’s developers planned to create their own bot to rapidly deliver the audio and video samples. However, building bots for each major video call platform proved complicated, and the prospect of sustaining and scaling these homegrown solutions was unappealing.
“We tried to build a bot in the beginning and we found out very quickly when we first tried to do it that we needed a better solution that works for us in a sustainable way and scalably going forward,” Marciano said. “We know that for some of these bots, if we were to build them ourselves, they likely wouldn't scale with large enterprises.”
Without a scalable solution, Validia’s platform could struggle to efficiently verify identities and prevent deepfake deception for their customers. This not only threatened Validia’s business, but also meant increased risk that any video meeting could be compromised by bad actors and criminals.
Solution: Prioritize developer time by pulling video data with an easy-to-use API
Validia needed a unified API that would integrate smoothly into their platform, function across all major video meeting platforms, and not take their developers away from the identity verification work that really mattered. They found their ideal partner in Recall.ai.
“When Validia came to us, they’d already realized how much time and effort would go into building bots for every platform,” said Recall.ai COO Amanda Zhu. “We were able to show them how Recall.ai could simplify the process with a unified API.”
“We knew that Recall.ai can actually scale with us as we grow,” Marciano said. “Validity is providing enterprises with identity authentication and Recall.ai is giving us the tools to do that.”
Empower developers
Recall.ai’s primary benefit is to free up Validia’s developers by providing a unified API and simple integration to automatically pull the audio and video data needed to verify user identities quickly and efficiently at scale.
“Recall has been a fantastic partner,” said Marciano. “They've been able to save us a ton of time, a ton of resources, and a ton of developer hours.”
“We’re proud to provide the infrastructure that enables their team to stay focused on these critical challenges without getting bogged down by platform-specific complexity,” said Zhu.
Smooth cross-platform integration
Recall.ai also empowered Validia to pull video and audio data from meetings on any platform their customers chose, delivering swift and reliable authentication in a smooth user experience.
“Instead of using developer resources for building bots for MS Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet, Recall.ai provided us with an infrastructure that we could utilize across all those platforms, and it's been smooth sailing ever since.,” Marciano said.
Partnership that scales
Finally, Recall.ai’s team has provided rapid support for any integration, scheduling, or usability questions, helping Validia’s developers focus on high-value business goals instead of managing bots or tweaking code.
“The customer service has been top notch,” Marciano said. “Always being able to message in Slack whenever we're dealing with an issue, or trying to figure something out on how to implement the calendar, integrations, the structure of the bot, or the API in a different way.”
“Partnerships like Validia’s are what we’re here for. Our goal is to make sure they have everything they need to grow and innovate, whether that’s through rapid integrations, reliable support, or just being there when they need us,” said Zhu. “We’re excited to continue supporting their mission to redefine enterprise identity authentication.”
Results: Scalable and fast identity detection powered by AI
Today, Recall.ai has become an instrumental part of how Validia delivers its AI-powered authentication to protect their customers from social engineering risks.
“Validia uses Recall.ai’s video conferencing bot API to pull audio and video clips in order to perform our deep fake detection and identity authentication,” Marciano said. “We'll utilize that footage, we'll compare it against our underlying database, which is using those biometric embeddings to produce a result whether someone is authenticated or not. Then it will kick to an MFA function on our end. The only way we've been able to actually make that a reality is utilizing the bot infrastructure that Recall.ai has provided.”
Validia’s innovative approach to enterprise identity authentication is continuing to thrive with the help of Recall.ai. In November 2024, Validia won the inaugural Okta SaaS Startup Competition at Oktane24 in Las Vegas, earning a $500,000 investment from Okta and the honor of ringing the Nasdaq bell.
“Earning Validia’s trust means a lot to us,” said Zhu. “Their work is setting new standards for enterprise security, and being part of that journey is something we’re proud of. We’re committed to ensuring Recall.ai continues to be a partner they can count on as they scale.”
“Recall.ai has always been there for us and I anticipate them always being there for us in the future,” Marciano said.
